This is my first John Wetton concert. It was an acoustic show. This show was just 2 nights before his electric show at the Progfest'97 in Los Angeles.
It was a very very short show.
The opening band was a duo of Eric Mcfadder and a female bass player. This band played about half an hour. Her singing was some sort annoying to me.
Wetton started about 9 p.m. He looked very healthy. And his voice was still awesome, strong and powerful. He played some songs from UK, King Crimson, Asia and his own solo works.
The set list from what I can recall:
ENCORE
He played only one song for the encore. At least I am glad that he played four King Crimson songs and he sang really good. I'm not sure that Wetton played "In The Dead Of Night" or not. It's been a long time since I saw the show. I wish I could have seen King Crimson with John Wetton on vocals. That would be a perfect lineup. But the King Crimson show I got to see was THRaKaTTaK tour. The double trio lineup is very perfect as well.
There were only t-shirt and "Chasing the dragon" cd's for sale at the show. It was almost the shortest prog show I have ever seen but it was worth it.
