Here is my Spock's Beard / Enchant review. This is one of many shows from the Expose concert series in the Bay Area. The next one is in Oct 31 for Ars Nova. Thisshow was in the same night as the Sepultura show at the Maritime Hall in San francisco, but I chose to see Spock's instead.
We arrived to the Transmission theater around 7:30 p.m. and we had to wait until almost 9 p.m. to get in. They said the door opens at 8 p.m. but it wasn't.
This venue is similar to Slim's club but it's smaller. It's just the opposite side of Slim's. They did not return the tickets to us. That's too bad. I usually do collect tickets of the shows I have seen.
Enchant started around 9:20 p.m. The songs they played from what I recognized were Below Zero, Blind Sided and more. Maybe 3-4 songs from the new album (Break) were My Enemy, Break and the other song I can't recall.
Enchant had a new bass player and he's pretty good. Ted played a guitar on songs from Break. Ted (singer) was in a top form everytime I saw. He is an excellent singer to me. Enchant played about 1 hour. Then we waited for a half an hour for Spock's to come up.
I noticed that some peope left after the Enchant show. That's weird because Spock's Beard was the headliner.
Spock's Beard's setlist:
FIRST ENCORE
SECOND ENCORE
I'd like to thank my friends Scott Luttringer and Paul Humm for the full setlist.
This is a loooooooooooong show I have ever seen from Spock's. My first Spock's show was Progfest'97. They played until 1 a.m. something. My legs hurt. We all had to stand all the entire show.
After seeing Spock's from this show, they changed my opinion cause I NEVER like Spock's before. I'm okay for their music but not for vocals. They all are good quality musicians I must admit especially for live shows. If you never see them live before you better do yourself a favour.
They had some merchandises for cd's and stuff:
~ Spock's; The light, Beware of darkness, Kindness of Stranger and life bootleg
~ Enchant; Break
~ Spock's t-shirt andposter
All members of Spock's and Enchant were waiting to sign stuff for fans after the show. That's very nice of them.
