I had a great time to see Rush ("Test For Echo" tour) at the San Jose arena. I arrived to the arena around 7.15 pm, there were a bunch of Rush fans there. The San Jose Arena was quite big and beautiful.

Rush started right on time at 8 pm with:

First Set :
• Dreamline (was it the same opening song as the Test for Echo tour?)
• The Big Money
• Driven (Geddy showed bass solo in this song)
• Half The World
• Red Barchetta (Alex soloed at the beginning)
• Animate
• Limbo (There was everybody's playing on screen.)
• The Trees
• Red Sector A (They had green and red lasers on this song.)
• Virtuality (I don't like it.)
• Nobody's Hero
• Closer To The Heart (It seemed like Rush played this song on every tour)
• 2112 (The entire song! That's enough for me.)

  They had 20 minute intermission!

  Second Set :

• Test For Echo (I liked the video of this song.)
• Subdivisions
• Freewill (Geddy could really hit the high note!)
• Roll The Bones
• Resist (My favourite song from the new album. Neil Peart played the hammer dulcimer.)
• Leave That Thing Alone (The second instrumental song.)
• drum solo (This was incredible. I never saw Neil live before. His timing was very good. He played 2 drum sets in this show. One was the double bass drum, and another one was the traditional set. He always swiched while he played old songs and new songs.)
• Natural Science
• Force Ten
• The Spirit of Radio
• Tom Sawyer

The sound quality of this show was too loud. I forgotto bring the earplugs. Alex seemed to have fun on stage. I saw he danced a lot. Neil was so sirious for his perfect playing. I hope to see Rush again in 1998 if they comes back. I got back home around 4 am. It was alte but it was a happy night. I bought a tour book (very beautiful pictures, keychains and some t-shirts. I like one of those t-shirts that had "if you want something done right" on the front, and "just forget it" on the back. It's cool!
