The Ozric show DID rule! Really!
Melting Euphoria (Bay Area prog/psychedelic) started around 9:15 p.m. They were okay IMO but I like the last show when they opened for Gong better.
Ozric came out around 10 p.m. Wow!! All members were EXTREMELY skinny.
If you have "Curious Corn" cd, the line-up is the same. They had this new drummer since "become the other" album came out I guess. They played songs from every album from Erplan, Strangeitude, Become the Other (this surprised me because songs in this album are rather modern and heavy if compare to other albums.), Jurassic Shift, Arborescence, Pungent Effulgent and Curious Corn. I only remember the songs "White Rhino Tea", "Cat DNA" (a guy shouted so loud "Wow!! They played F**king Cat DNA"), "Snakepit", "Ghedengi", "Eternal Wheel", etc. They were absolutely a MUST see band at live. Ed, the guitar player and the leader of the band was very quiet but John , the flute player was running all over the stage all through the show, Rad, the drummer was very skinny but his drumming was really cool, Seaweed, the keyboard player (main sound of Ozric) has very long hair (longer than his knees), he played very good. The only member in the band that was very quiet was Zia, the bass player. Ozric had a bunch of keyboards on stage. I'm wondering that Kraftwerk show on Sunday will have more keyboards for sure, or maybe lots of sequencers.
They played straight from 10 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. non-stop. John was the only who spoke and I did not get what he said because of his English accent. He reminded us to not forget to get on the internet on June 7 to hear the show.
The band came out for the encore with 3 songs. It's hard to recognize the names of the songs because they all were instrumental. There was only one song that John made some noise because he did not really sing.
No concert t-shirts or anything to be sold at the show. I think Ozric did not really have a tour. Right now they had only SF show, the only one show. I do not know their will plan after they have this show live on line on June 7.
