Here is my review from "The Guitar Trio" show at the Nob Hill Masinic Center in San Francisco. The show was rather long (started from 8:30 p.m.- 11:15 p.m.).
At first McLaughlin played (alone) 2 songs. Paco DeLucia played 1 song. Al DeMeola played 2 songs. After that, duo jam for each pair at a time, they played till 10 p.m., and had the intermission 20-25 mins. Dimeola & De Lucia played Passion Grace & Fire.
Came back with the trio played together. I really hope to see Mahavishnu Orchestra concert which it is impossible for me. The band doesn't exist anymore. I love to hear Birds of fire and some song from Visions And Emerald Beyond's album (my all time fevourite album).
Encore with the trio, 2-3 songs. Everybody stood up and applauded. I think this show was sold out, every seat was full. Everybody was very nice and mellow. On the way I walked to the Masonic Center, some people asked me for an extra ticket. The sound system was very good.
There were things for sale there; CD's, bags, magnets, keychains, t-shirts, etc. I bought myself the guitar trio cd ands that's all. I wonder what the "Friday Night in Sna Francisco" show would be like, I missed it. But this show was on Saturday night.
