BRUCE DICKINSON w/ Geezer Butler
Slim's, San Francisco
September 1, 1997

This was my frist time to see Bruce dickinson. I have never seen Iron Maiden live before.

There were 2 opening bands, the first one was Pullar - boring punk band, the second one was the Geezer Butler band, the bass player of Black Sabbath. He was so powerful at live and the drummer was Dean Castronavo (This guy kicked some serious butt!). I went up to the front to see Geezer. There were a few seats in the back of the hall but nobody wanted to sit, so everybody stood.

Geezer played about 1 hour and he also played the old Sabbath songs too. The lead singer of the band looked very young if compare to Geezer but he did a good job.

Then, Bruce dickinson came out. He was in a good shape. He did not look old though. Adrian Smith the guitar in the band too. Bruce sang a lot of Iron Maiden songs, such as 2 mins to midnight, prisoners, the number of the beast, powerslave...and his own solo works, Tears of the dragon, tattooed millionaire and a lot more...I can't recall. I was very impressed with the show. Bruce WAS the man! He was a really good heavy metal singer. People tried to mosh and push up to the front. A bit crazy crowd. But this place did not allow fans to mosh, if you mosh you will be ejected. I saw some people were thrown out from the hall because they did moshing.

That's a good show to see once in a while.
